Book launch, 18 June 2019
More than 20 years ago, Peter Meier’s research showed that the economy behaves similarly to an oscillating system. Since then, he has used this insight to forecast incoming orders for capital goods. In June 2019 his book “Die Wirtschaft als schwingendes System” (The Economy as an Oscillating System) has been published by Carl Hanser Verlag. The book summarises the observations, findings and principles on which the Peter Meier forecast model is based.
On Tuesday, 18 June 2019 we celebrated this event and the book launch together with our guests. With renowned experts as Peter Meier (founder of the Peter Meier Forecasting Model and book author), Fred Gaegauf (Chairman of the Board of Directors, United Grinding Group), Manuel Ferreira (Head of Investment Strategy & Economic Research, Zürcher Kantonalbank) and Josua Burkart (Managing Director, hpo forecasting) we discussed the predictability of forecasts.
At the same time, we celebrated the continuation of Peter Meier’s lifework through hpo – and of course we dared to take a look at the economic development of the next two years.
The event (held in German) was by invitation only and took place at the Zunfthaus zur Zimmerleuten in Zurich: Tuesday, 18 June 2019, from 6.00 – 10:00 p.m. The moderation of the event was carried out by Dr. Fabienne Meier (Head of Strategic Marketing hpo management consulting ag).
